This inspection was performed by the Michigan State Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) at a production facility in Traverse City, MI. It’s possible the food product residue could have been included in the finished product, according to a news release from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA.) So far, no illnesses have been reported.
The recalled non-organic GoGo squeeZ applesauce pouches have a best before date between Dec. 4, 2015, and March 4, 2017, and a five-digit production code beginning “US” followed by 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07 or 08. Consumers can find this information on the back of the pouch or on the bottom of the box.

Consumers who have purchased affected GoGo squeeZ applesauce pouches are advised to contact GoGosqueeZ at 1-844-275-5841 or visit the company’s website to request a replacement voucher.
In the meantime, the company is removing the pouches with affected codes, coordinating with MDARD and implementing corrective steps to prevent future incidents. Production of the product has been suspended while GoGo squeeZ and MDARD officials continue their investigation regarding the source of the problem.
