The Drawing Lesson- A Graphic Novel That Teaches You How To Draw, book  reiterates the quote that “Practice makes us Perfect.  When I first saw the book I could not stop thinking to myself,’A graphic Novel which could teach you how to draw ?really?”.  But when I started reading the book I was could not stop telling myself, indeed you could teach someone how to draw using a comic book!.  I never heard about the author . But when I really did some research into who the author was  I was super impressed. Mark Crilley is a drawing instructor and graphic novelist with a great following for his drawing tutorials. He actually portrays his easy to follow artistic instructions to aspiring artists in the form of a comic book. The book totally provides one of a kind  “how to experience”.  In the Book “The Drawing Lesson -A Graphic Novel That Teaches You How To Draw,” a young boy David really wants to learn how to draw. He then meets Becky by chance. Becky becomes his mentor. Becky starts to teach David and us (the reader’s) step by step fundamentals about mastering the drawing.

The Drawing Lesson -A Graphic Novel That Teaches You How To Draw, covers different techniques like  shading, learning about a loose sketch, different strokes and how you have to hold your pencil, concepts about light and shadow, the concept about loose space,checking proportions , creating compositions  and overall  how to simplify things and bringing them all together.

It totally had been a great experience reading this book and also trying few sketches of my own. Book also gives you some instructions on what it wants you to do like an instructor suggesting you the next steps. Well rather telling you what you have to do next!
This will be a good book for any kid who  would love to draw or interested in drawing. It mixes drawing and reading in a fun  and exciting way by providing a comic book experience.
